Howard A. Samuels, co-founder of the Mercator Group is a consultant with Fourth Floor Consulting, Inc. (www.fourthfloor.com), a Chicago and Dallas-based management consulting firm that specializes in merger and acquisition integration and strategy execution and serves as an advisor to the firm. Howard is also a manager of Mercator Ventures Fund I.
Howard has over 20 years of experience in consulting and management with companies in the US, Europe and Asia. He has been responsible for managing numerous projects, ranging in size from start-ups to very large multi-national corporations. His areas of expertise include M&A Integration, Strategy Execution and Operations Improvement. His industry experience includes business services, technology, healthcare, consumer, financial services and industrial markets.
In addition to his nine years of consulting experience, he has held numerous positions in industry, including President and CEO of an early stage retail category killer, co-founder and Vice President of Corporate Development for a B2B e-procurement company he helped grow from zero to $800 million in revenues and Director of European Operations for a computer hardware and systems integration services company.
Howard has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University and a Masters in Business Administration from Babson College where he was a Sorenson Scholar and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. His outside interests include windsurfing and sailing.
